What a weekend!

What an exciting weekend. We saw a bit of everything. Rain and later thundershowers spawning high winds and even hail. (Luckily Sunday was nice for Mom). It was a great weekend for weather nerds and thanks to everyone for sending in pics and a special thanks to Erika for sending in this video from Friday's hail storm in Lindsay.

Awesome! I've also posted this short video to my new You Tube channel as well. Check it out at this link http://www.youtube.com/TheWeatherNerd and I'll be getting more vids online in the near future.

Now to the forecast. A Frost Warning was issued today for much of Ontario including the Durham region. Peterborough was not included in the warning but frost is still a possibility into the overnight tonight as we could drop down to a low of minus 2 with little to no cloud cover. No clouds means all that radiant heat we gained today from the sun will most likely radiate back into space. That being said, a warm up is on the way. Looking at the latest GFS run to the left we should see a nice southerly flow of wind between a departing high and ahead of a low that will bring showers for Thursday. It seems that this warm up comes with a price.
