Wind, Rain & Lightning...OH MY!

Well, it looks like there will be a lot of rain tonight and high winds to go along with all of that moisture. We’re squeezed in between an arriving low and a departing high that will be kicking in some strong southwesterlies. Thunderstorm activity is also possible as a lot of moisture is being kicked around in those tall storm clouds (thanks to updrafts and downdrafts). Those moving molecules cause friction and generate static electricity just like you do walking on carpet. Mother Nature’s way of discharging that energy is through lightning. (Just like touching the door handle…with a bigger shock).

Now on to the forecast. Although fairly potent, this system clears out quickly. Most of the rain (and there is a lot) should fall in the overnight and later in the day (tomorrow) things should start to clear. But expect a wet morning. Friday looks great but Saturday…not so much. The long weekend is not all bad though and I’ll break it all down for you tonight on Newswatch at 6pm and 11pm. Oh...and don't forget to check out the new YouTube channel on the sidebar to the right and follow my updates on Twitter...I'm TWEETING! Whatever that means. See you tonight.

Oh...and finally, I have to thank Brian Ellis over at The Wolf for plugging this blog on his blog. To be fair I shall now plug his blog. His blog has a much cooler name than mine. (I have "blog name" envy). So click here to check out the "B-Spot" and find out more about the life of Brian.
