A "Mixed Bag" Weekend

Oh boy. What a day! It’s always a great day when you get to use the biggest cliché in TV Weather. Here it goes…it looks like this weekend we could see a “mixed bag” of weather. I love this term. It literally covers all bases. (That’s an important trait in an industry notorious for “occasionally” getting it wrong. But I do think we will see a bit of everything. Looking at the latest GFS run it looks like there is more than a good chance for showers both Saturday and Sunday but we may see a few breaks. I’m not saying we can expect to see a lot of sunshine, but we may see a few hours during the afternoon on both days where it may be safe to head out onto the back deck and fire up the grill. As for Mr. Sun…I wouldn’t expect to see to much of him but a few sunny breaks are possible. I’ll keep checking the forecast models and of course keep you updated here in the blog.

More Rain?

Rain! Well it is spring. That’s what spring is all about right? Well, let’s break it down. To the left is the latest NAM run and that is what things should look like tomorrow as that low pushes though. The good news is that we could see a break from the rain (and maybe some sunshine) for Friday but the weekend (at this point) looks to be a wet one. Late Friday and into Saturday we are likely to see some rain although a few breaks are possible again for Saturday…but it’s still too early to call. Saturday is a big day for local fundraising as the Army Cadets are out “tagging” (help them out) and M&M Meat Shop are have their fundraising BBQ. I’ll keep you updated on any possible changes here on the blog.

Speaking of fundraising, McDonald’s held its big fundraiser today. McHappy Day was a blast and I want to thank the staff at the Lansdowne East McDonald’s for having me and for giving me a cool little prize to give away. If you would like a Big Mac Puzzle just email me the codeword “Mac Attack” and your contact info to jason.scotland@corusent.com and good luck! I’ll announce the winner later this week on the blog.

To rain or not to rain? That is the question.

To be completely honest…tomorrow is tough to call. Putting together the Newswatch 9-2-5 today was a challenge. As far as tomorrow is concerned things could be rather nice or we could see a few showers. Looking at the latest GFS run things are looking pretty good. If this model holds true we could see sunny conditions for most of the day but that system you see southeast of us may bring a few late day showers and possibly some cloudy conditions into the afternoon. My advice for tomorrow is to plan for some light, late day rain showers but keep your fingers crossed for sunshine. Let’s hope that nice area of High pressure sticks around a while.
